Item Compact triplexer with open ring resonators as microstrip trisection bandpass filters for asymmetric response(Scopus, 2013) Castillo Araníbar, Patricia Raquel; Rodriguez Postigo, Paolo Alexander; Garcia Lamperez, Alejandro; Segovia Vargas, DanielOpen loop ring resonators are used as the basic block of a compact planar triplexer, they are used in cascaded trisection (CT) filters, in order to reduce the circuit size. The CT filter has a cross coupling that produces a single attenuation pole at finite frequency used to shape the bandpass response. Ring resonators are properly located with respect to the input and output feed lines, in order to get good isolation response, and also to suppress channel interfering and to meet the design specifications for applications in mobile communication. The triplexer was fabricated and measured to verify the viability of the design with good agreements between the measurements and the simulations. © 2013 IEEE.Item Design of a compact diplexer for multisystem das solutions(IEEE Computer Society, 2011) Castillo Araníbar, Patricia Raquel; Garcia Lamperez, Alejandro; Segovia Vargas, Daniel; Salazar Palma, MagdalenaThis paper presents a microstrip diplexer for multisystem Distributed Antenna System (DAS) solutions, namely for DCS and UMTS systems. A low-pass quasi-elliptic filter with a stub-like structure is used for the 1800 MHz band while a band-pass Chebychev filter with a hairpin line structure is employed for the 2150 MHz band. Both filters are connected to the common port through a T junction. The diplexer layout has been optimized in order to ensure compactness. Good agreement between simulated and measured results has been obtained. The diplexer shows excellent performance in terms of high isolation and low insertion loss. A semi-lumped element model of the diplexer is also presented. © 2011 IEEE.Item Multiple split-ring resonators for tri-band filter with asymmetric response(Scopus, 2011) Castillo Araníbar, Patricia Raquel; Garcia Lamperez, Alejandro; Segovia Vargas, Daniel; Salazar Palma, Magdalena; Barbin, SilvioA triple-band filter composed of multiple split ring resonators is presented. This filter is based on a chain of triple split ring resonators that produces three pass-bands. The change in the dimensions of the corresponding meander lines of the tri-band SRRs can make us obtain an asymmetric response. This response is useful for some microwave applications. This paper presents a study of asymmetric multiband filters based on multiple split ring resonators. © 2011 IEEE.Item Omnidirectional compact dual-band antenna based on dual-frequency unequal split ring resonators for WLAN and WiMAX applications(Electromagnetics Academy, 2018) Castillo Araníbar, Patricia Raquel; Garcia Lamperez, Alejandro; Segovia Vargas, DanielAn omnidirectional compact antenna based on dual-band Split Ring Resonators (SRRs) for 2.45 GHz wireless local area network (WLAN) and 3.5 GHz worldwide interoperability for microwave access (WiMAX) applications is presented. Different and new properties of SRRs, such as dual-band or multi-band performance in the design of compact antennas, can be obtained by making the rings unequal and asymmetric. The dual-band SRR antenna is designed with a bandwidth control technique based on the stored electromagnetic energy in the resonator rings. The obtained results show that the SRR antenna has good omnidirectional radiation pattern for both bands and good impedance bandwidth. In addition, compactness and flexibility are obtained with a simple structure of the SRRs. © 2018, Electromagnetics Academy. All rights reserved.
